Side Guide of the Heavy Plate Mill
The side guards are situated at the entry and exit side of the plate mill. The side guards have two main tasks: The guiding of the plate during the pass and Centering of the plate after turning
For a fast adjustment of the side guard and a low energy consumption a new drive constellation was developed.
The side guards have an electromechanical drive system. Due to the newly developed damping element, overload peaks no longer occur.
